Must have access to a computer with browsers compatible with designed survey.  Can be limited by lack of Internet or PC availability.

Interactive Voice Response

Easily administered to nearly any location worldwide. Data entry occurs as participant enters data. No reliance on Internet access. Toll free lines available.

Must have access to a telephone. Best suited to surveys with fewer than 30 questions.

E-mail /
Fax-To-Data

Can be easily administered to people spread over many locations. All the advantages of Internet without the cost of a web site.

Must have access to e-mail (to receive survey) and fax machine (to return survey).

Paper

Can be easily administered to all. Independent of technology. Can be filled out anywhere, anytime. Well suited to long questionnaires or complex response options.

Must rely on postal service or express delivery companies. Data must be entered before processing can occur.
